Mafube Coal is an opencast mine situated 37 km east of Middelburg in Mpumalanga. As a joint venture between Thungela Resources and Exxaro Resources, Mafube Coal primarily supplies coal to the export market.

The Mafube Coal Learnership Programme provides learners with the opportunity to:
Attend theoretical and practical training at CTC
Gain valuable hands-on, on-the-job training at the mine
Build strong foundations for a career in the mining industry

Minimum Requirements For The Mafube Coal Learnership Programme 2025
Minimum Grade 12 with relevant technical subjects for the trade applied for
A N2 Technical Qualification in the related trade
Sound knowledge of safety systems, regulations and standards
Willingness to work shifts, standby, and callouts when required
The ability to obtain a certificate of fitness
A valid driver's license
