About the Role
Join Pedros, a leading food production company, as a Code 10 Driver in their Cape Town distribution centre. This permanent position requires a responsible, safety-conscious driver to transport high-quality food products across the Western Cape, ensuring timely and professional deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Delivery:
- Operate vehicle safely and efficiently following all traffic regulations
- Follow planned routes and delivery schedules accurately
- Ensure proof of delivery documentation is properly completed
- Return empty containers and undelivered products promptly
- Loading & Handling:
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Load and offload products safely, including pallet handling
- Verify loads match delivery documents before departure
- Refuel vehicle as needed and complete inspection sheets
- Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to Road Traffic Act and Occupational Health Safety Act
- Wear required PPE and follow all safety protocols
- Maintain clean work environment using 5S standards
- Report mechanical problems immediately to supervisors
Requirements
Matric (Grade 12) certificate
Valid Code 10 Driver’s License
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
- 5+ years proven driving experience
- Valid South African ID
- Punctual and reliable with shift flexibility
- Work Conditions:
- Day and night shifts
- Early morning call times
- Physical loading/offloading duties
- Route driving across Western Cape
