Purpose of the Job
We are hiring a qualified Mechanical Fitter responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of pipelines, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and industrial
machinery. The ideal candidate will ensure that all mechanical equipment is operating safely and in compliance with engineering standards and regulatory guidelines. You must be a team
player, available for overtime, and capable of performing standby duties.
Key Responsibilities For The Mechanical Fitter jobs at Sasol
. Install and maintain high-pressure fire suppression systems, fluid power systems, and hydraulic circuits
. Construct and repair hard and flexible pipelines for mechanical operations
. Cut, thread, and shape pipes to precise specifications using cutting torches, threading machines, and hand tools
. Fabricate, weld, and assemble valve bank frames and various mechanical structures
. Troubleshoot and assess faulty plant equipment or machinery to determine the location and nature of mechanical defects
. Dismantle, repair, and reassemble mechanical plant components
. Manufacture replacement parts using hand tools, lathes, and milling machines
. Install, reposition, test, and adjust plant equipment for optimal functionality
Minimum Requirements
. Matric / Grade 12 with Maths & Science or N3 Engineering Studies
. Trade Test Certificate or NQF Level 4 Chieta Mechanical Qualification
. Minimum 3 years of relevant mechanical maintenance experience
. Valid Driver's License - Code B
